London, UK, January 30, 2025 – Orbus Software, a global market-leading provider of SaaS enterprise transformation software, has today announced the release of Workspaces in OrbusInfinity. This new capability provides solution and enterprise architects with a secure environment to experiment, collaborate, and perfect model content without compromising live repository data.
Workspaces in OrbusInfinity enables users to operate in an isolated space where they can refine ideas and test changes with confidence, ensuring data integrity and governance are maintained. Unlike traditional modeling methods that risk live data quality, Workspaces empowers architects to iterate on concepts, park initiatives, and innovate freely without disruption.
Workspaces offers a structured yet flexible environment where authors can experiment with objects or relationships from any model at any time, addressing key challenges in enterprise architecture management:
- Operational efficiency: By providing a dedicated environment for experimentation, Workspaces reduces errors and accelerates the development of high-quality models.
- Data security and governance: The walled-off workspace ensures data integrity by preventing uncontrolled changes to the live repository.
- Collaboration: Teams can work together seamlessly, reviewing and refining content before merging it back into the baseline environment with minimal risk.
Workspaces in OrbusInfinity introduces several features designed to support enterprise architects in managing change effectively:
- Create a workspace: Quickly set up a secure workspace to experiment and innovate freely.
- Copy model content: Duplicate existing content into the workspace for refinement.
- Delete workspace items: Keep workspaces clutter-free by removing experimental or unnecessary elements.
- Review workspace changes: Validate all modifications before final integration.
- Merge content to the main repository: Seamlessly integrate unique model content or entire workspaces into the live environment once they are validated.
"Workspaces in OrbusInfinity is like Microsoft Word's 'Track Changes' functionality for enterprise architecture,” said Jonathan Eversett, Product Manager for Workspaces. “You keep a draft version of your file for you and others to review and refine. Once edits are suggested, changes are accepted, and the document is approved, you make it live. In this way, Workspaces allows for experimentation and collaboration before pushing updates to the main architecture. We are delighted by the feedback we’ve had so far and look forward to hearing more about it from our customers."
OrbusInfinity customers can start using Workspaces from today at no extra cost. Developed in collaboration with existing customers, the new enhancement is the latest in Orbus Software's continued commitment to empowering architects with innovative solutions that drive business transformation while maintaining governance and control.
