It's our responsibility to leave the world better than we found it. We are determined to drive sustainable innovation in all areas of our business.

Environmental Sustainability

We're taking decisive action to reduce our environmental impact by implementing a responsible and measurable digital supply chain focused on reducing our carbon usage scope 3 across the business. By 2023, our goal is to improve upon our 2022 baseline by an ambitious 10%. In addition, we're partnering with corporate charities to preserve biodiversity, improve air and water quality, and combat deforestation. Through our green procurement policies and effective waste management, we're making strides toward achieving our environmental sustainability goals across our global offices.

Social Responsibility

At Orbus Software, we prioritize the people and communities in which we operate. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace and have implemented gender, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity initiatives. Our employee engagement programs are designed to nurture our people and promote a positive workplace culture. We are also committed to data protection and privacy, community involvement, and upholding human rights and labor standards.

We believe in transparent and ethical business practices and are committed to adhering to policies, principles, and procedures governing leadership, board composition, executive compensation, audit committee structure, shareholder rights, bribery, lobbying, political contributions, and whistleblower programs. We are implementing internal controls to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of corporate governance at all levels and enable us to deliver long-term value to our stakeholders.

Making a difference

Our corporate ESG pledges

We’re building on the pledges we set ourselves in 2023 to further refine our commitment to sustainability and ensure we’re doing our best to leave the world better than we found it.  We have updated our pledges for 2024 and have aligned efforts with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Pledge 1

Make a positive social impact by raising over £15k for charity

Our mission is to give back and make a tangible, positive impact on society. We will donate to our corporate charity partners Médecins Sans Frontières and One Tree Planted.

Pledge 2

Make positive environmental changes through green procurement policies

We aim to create a green procurement policy and measure our impact monthly. In doing so, we commit to making informed decisions that favor sustainability, reduce our carbon footprint, and promote a healthier planet.

Pledge 3

Plant 1,500 trees with One Tree Planted

We will make a positive environmental impact by planting trees to align with various business activities such as global events and welcoming new team members.

Pledge 4

Launch a not-for-loss solution for the not-for-profit sector

We are planning to launch an OrbusInfinity offering to empower charitable organizations with the tools and resources to maximize their impact, ensuring that they can continue their invaluable work without financial strain.

Pledge 5

Launch OnHand and engage 200 employees

OnHand democratizes doing good by enabling employees to support the causes important to them. By launching OnHand, we hope to mobilize 200 employees to participate in at least one positive action.

With the launch of our Sustainability Management Solution taking place in 2024, we pledge to continue investing in the offering to enhance the user experience and truly embed sustainability in all business decisions.

Launch employee donation matching

The employee donation matching scheme aims to amplify the individual actions of our employees, so that they can support the causes that are important to them beyond our corporate charity partners One Tree Planted and Médecins Sans Frontières.

We are immensely proud to be supporting Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) through employee fundraising, company matching, and customer reviews on G2. MSF is the world’s leading independent organization for medical humanitarian aid. Every day, more than 24,000 MSF field staff assist people affected by conflicts, epidemics, and natural disasters – wherever the need is greatest.

One Tree Planted is a non-profit organization focused on global restoration and making it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together with One Tree Planted, we can restore forests, create habitats for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact around the world.

OnHand is an all-in-one tool to engage employees in local volunteering & climate action. From youth mentoring and helping the elderly to making climate pledges, OnHand enables us to make more positive impacts at home, work and beyond.

Quarterly Impact Report: Embracing Progress and Improvement

Earlier this year, we launched our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policy, OrbAid. We're excited to share our first Quarterly Impact Report, a reflection of our ESG journey so far. It's an opportunity for us to celebrate achievements, acknowledge areas for growth, and share our dedication to creating meaningful impact. 

Celebrating milestones 

We're thrilled to have reached significant milestones in our ESG journey this year: 
  • 375 Trees Planted: A step towards a greener planet. 
  • Over £20,401 in Charity Donations: Testament to our commitment to social well-being and collective responsibility. 

Journeying towards our pledges 

  • Positive Social Impact: We are elated to have surpassed our fundraising goal, contributing over £20,401 to charity through collaborative initiatives. 
  • Green Procurement Policies: We’re actively developing strategies to ensure environmentally and socially responsible procurement practices. 
  • Customer Referral and Onboarding Scheme with One Tree Planted: A series of internal and external initiatives are supporting us to reach our goal of planting 1500 trees. 
  • ESG and Partner Round Table Discussions: Our sessions bring together partners like One Tree Planted and Médecins Sans Frontières to deliberate on our mutual impacts.

Acknowledging areas for growth 

  • Employee Volunteer Time Off Program: We're making strides towards achieving a 10% global adoption and encourage everyone to join in making a difference. 
  • Waste Management Policies: Despite minor delays, we're resolute in implementing effective waste management across our global offices. 
  • Green Travel Policies: We have already made significant reductions in the amount of necessary travel of our team, and we’re developing further green travel policies to continue improving our our carbon footprint. 

Spotlighting positive impact challenges 

  • Australia's Cooking for a Cause: Our team rolled up their sleeves to support Australian food rescue charity OzHarvest, helping to combat food insecurity. 
  • Poland's Forest Cleanup: The team devoted time and energy to clean up local forests, underscoring our commitment to environmental conservation.
  • UK’s Blood Donation Drive: A group of our London team participated in a life-saving blood donation drive.

We are currently developing an ESG solution as part of our enterprise transformation platform OrbusInfinity, with the goal of helping organizations make sustainability a key driver of business decision-making.
